The challenge

Istec has already successfully entered the speed protection market and wanted to enter the speed monitoring market as well. To do this, they would need multiple solutions that would be easy to scale, simple to integrate, and which would have good configurability. This was necessary because it would allow Istec to have the easiest path of entry into a market which they hadn’t yet explored. To develop and manufacture these products, Istec partnered with EACH.

The solution

EACH worked in close collaboration with Istec, using its engineering and production teams as one integrated team. Through a thorough and iterative development process, EACH was able to develop Istec’s tachometer series, which includes four distinct products. Each product has a small footprint, thanks to their compact designs. With every development cycle, the design was further refined, until Istec’s requirements for manufacturability, performance and reliability were met. From that final design, the products were taken into series production.

The results of these efforts is Istec’s tachometer line, comprising four different tachometers. Each of these tachometers can be easily produced and scaled up. This is because the T10, the one-channel version of the tachometer, uses one circuit board, while the T20 uses two of the exact same circuit boards.

The result

With the tachometers line, Istec was able to offer speed monitoring to a therefore unexplored market. This allowed Istec to establish a presence in speed monitoring, opening up a new market that allowed them to grow their total market share and revenue.
